WARNING: You may find my closing paragraph to have spoilers, I tried to keep it vague, but read at your own risk if you don't want to know the ending.

Adam and I are big fans of How I Met Your Mother, and what better way to see the show off than with a themed date night. Before watching the finale we got ready for the show with some food, drinks and activities.

Dinner:
"Sandwiches" - "Sandwiches" have come up in the show many times. Each time they referenced sandwiches in the show it made me laugh. So we each had a sandwich.
Ted's Super Bowl Wings - We had BBQ wings in honor of the episode where Ted uses his deprivator 5000 to get the super bowl wings for the gang's party.
Pineapple? - We aren't sure how that got there.

Dessert:
Sumbitches - I found a recipe for the cookies The Mother makes and shares with Lily. They were a delicious combination of peanut butter, caramel and chocolate.

Rabbit or Duck - We had rabbit and ducks peeps because of the duck-rabbit illusion from season 5.
Drinks:
The Robin Sherbatsky AKA The Minnesota Tidal Wave - In season 8 we find out Marshall invented a cocktail that Carl the bartender put on the menu as The Robin Sherbatsky. This was a very interesting, strong and thick cocktail.. personally I wouldn't want my name on it.

Activities:
First, we watched flash backs from all the previous 8 seasons. Then we watched some other videos of great moments from HIMYM. We also listend to Barney Stinson's Get Psyched Mix. Finally, we played a few rounds of Quizup with How I Met Your Mother themed topics. We also both wore our favorite Indians shirt since Ted is such a big Cleveland fan (and it was MLB opening day).

The Finale:
As many of you probably have seen, the finale of How I Met Your Mother was a bit controversial. Pretty much the majority of fans hated it. Overall, the episode was funny, happy and very very sad. I liked it. I liked how Ted and the Mother met, and I liked they're time together. I could see that Ted was very happy with The Mother, and she was the love of his life. I thought the scene with Ted and the kids was funny, and Adam and I both liked that the last scene brought the show full circle. I cried and was sad, but the events seemed very real, and I'm happy Ted's kids are giving him a second chance at happiness. Overall, I liked the series finale and LOVED the series.  How I Met Your Mother will forever be one of my favorite shows.
